8/21/2011: Ichiro Suzuki, Hideki Matsui, Kosuke Fukudome

Tampa Bay Rays 8 - Seattle Mariners 0
Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 1-for-4: pop out to first, ground out to the catcher, fly out to left, single to left.

Oakland A's 5 - Toronto Blue Jays 1
Hideki Matsui was the starting DH and batted fourth.  He went 2-for-4: RBI single to left, ground out to second, single to right, pop out to second.  Matsui has now safely hit in 6 straight games.

Detroit Tigers 10 - Cleveland Indians 1
Kosuke Fukudome started in center and batted sixth.  He went 0-for-4: ground out to short, strikeout looking, line out to second, ground out to second.

Chicago White Sox 3 - Texas Rangers 2
Koji Uehara entered the game in the bottom of the 8th, with the game tied at 2, and gave up the go ahead run before leaving the with a runner on third and 2 out.  Uehara took the loss and dropped to 1-3.  Final line: 0.2 IP, 4 BF, 12-9 NP-S, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 0 SO, 0 HR.

LA Angels 9 - Baltimore Orioles 8
Hisanori Takahashi entered the game in the top of the 10th, with the score tied at 6, and faced the minimum over the first two innings he pitched.  Then, in his third inning of work, Takahashi put runners on first and second before being replaced by Fernando Rodney.  Both runners ended up scoring, one with the help of a throwing error (E9).  Final line: 2.2 IP, 10 BF, 35-21 NP-S, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 0 SO, 0 HR.

Milwaukee Brewers 11 - New York Mets 9
Takashi Saito entered the game in the bottom of the 7th with runners on first and third, 1 out, and the Brewers up 7-3.  Saito walked the first batter he faced to load the bases and then allowed one inherited runner to score on a force and a second inherited runner (plus one of his own) to score on a double to left.  He finally got out of the inning when he retired the fourth batter he faced on a fly out to center. Final line: 0.2 IP, 4 BF, 15-7 NP-S, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 0 SO, 0 HR.


Tsuyoshi Nishioka was scratched from the game on the 20th with back spasms.
