Chunichi Dragons

The Dragons have now been held to 2 runs or less in 8 straight games.

Hanshin Tigers

Takashi Toritani played in his 985th consecutive game last night, putting him in an 8th place tie with Alex Ramirez on the All-time list.

Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi started a Ni-gun game against Orix yesterday and gave up a run on 8 hits over 5 innings of work.

Detroit Tigers' Dick Egan (Special Assistant to the General Manager) was at last night's game and may have been checking on Matt Murton.

Yokohama Bay Stars

Terrmel Sledge was examined at a hospital yesterday and diagnosed with an injury to his right acetabular labrum (右股関節唇損傷).  The injury doesn't appear to be serious and the Bay Stars feel Sledge might be able to play in his first Ni-gun rehab game in about 2 weeks (he'll need at least one week for a full recovery).
