An update on Tsuyoshi Nishioka, from MLB.com:

Twins shortstop Tsuyoshi Nishioka was held out of the starting lineup for the sixth consecutive day on Thursday because of back spasms...

Nishioka, who did serve as a pinch-runner in Sunday's game, could make his return on Friday against the Tigers.

"Nishi feels a lot better and is available for the game," Twins trainer Rick McWane said. "He wants to play [on Friday], but we'll see how he is. But he's definitely making progress."
