Hanshin Tigers

Yasutomo Kubo extended his winning streak against the Yakult Swallows to 9 games Firday night (going back to 8/20/2009) and set a new franchise record (he was originally tied with Yutaka Enatsu and Shigeru Kobayashi).

Takahiro Arai's streak of playing in every inning of every game came to an end at 386 games when he was replaced on defense in the top of the 9th inning of Friday night's game against the Yakult Swallows.  Arai has struggled a bit with his defense lately and it seems the straw the broke the camel's back came in the top of the 8th when he committed a throwing error that led to 2 unearned runs.

Daiki Kiyohara started a Ni-gun game against Chunichi on Friday and gave up 3 runs on 8 hits over 5 innings of work.

Yokohama Bay Stars

Yuki Kuniyoshi could get Saturday's start against the Chunichi Dragons.  Kuniyoshi joined the Ichi-gun team for practice on Friday and tossed about 30 pitches in the bullpen.

Yakult Swallows

Friday night's loss against the Hanshin Tigers guarantees the Swallows their first losing month this season (7-12-3 with 4 games remaining).

The trio of Norichika Aoki, Kazuhiro Hatakeyama, and Shingo Kawabata have been held hitless by Yasutomo Kubo (HAN) this season - 0 hits in a combined 38 trips to the plate.
