8/30/2011: Ichiro Suzuki, Hisanori Takahashi, Hideki Matsui

Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 2-for-4: double (17) to right-center (run scored), strikeout swinging, double  (18) to center (run scored), fly out to left.  Ichiro now needs 47 hits in 29 games to reach 200.

Hisanori Takahashi entered the game in the bottom of the 7th, with the game tied at 3, and retired the side in order before giving up a 2-run homer to Mike Carp and and leaving with runners on first and second and 2 out in the bottom of the 8th.  Takahashi took the loss and is now 3-3.  Final line: 1.2 IP, 9 BF, 33-19 NP-S, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 SO, 1 HR.

Hideki Matsui was the starting DH and batted fourth.  He went 1-for-4: pop out to the catcher in foul territory, pop out to short, double to left, fly out to right.  Matsui also collected his 488th double of his NPB + MLB career, good for sole possession of first on the All-time NPB list.

Kosuke Fukudome started in right and batted second.  He went 2-for-3: infield single, ground out to second, RBI double (24) to right.

Tsuyoshi Nishioka started at short and batted ninth.  He went 1-for-1: walk, single to left, walk.

Junichi Tazawa entered the game in the bottom of the 6th, with Pawtucket up 2-0, and retired the side in order.  Final line: 1 IP,3 BF, 9-7 NP-S, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 SO, 0 HR.
