The Japan Professional Baseball Players Association (JPBPA) announced on Monday that they donated 5M yen (each) to High School Baseball Federations in Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima.

According to the JPBPA, the high school baseball federations in the 3 prefectures sustained financial losses due to damages from the March 11 earthquake / tsunami.  The JPBPA also plans on looking into other prefectures, like Chiba and Ibaraki, to see what they can do to help.

Toru Matsubara, secretary-general of the JPBPA, told reporters that they wished to continue helping out over a number of years since this wasn't something that was going to get better and go away in just 1 year.
