Sports Hochi notes that Shota Ishimine could end up becoming just the 3rd player in NPB history (behind Kyoshi Watanabe - .303 with 33 stolen bases in 1955; and Shigeo Nagashima - .305 with 37 stolen bases in 1958) to bat .300 and steal 30 bases during their first year. Ishimine is currently at .301 with 22 stolen bases with 41 games left on the schedule.
Hiroshi Kisanuki was added to the active roster today. He'll likely be used in long relief.
Senichi Hoshino told reporters yesterday that they were looking into rules (written and unwritten) that MLB teams have for their players.
Said Hoshino, "Right now, we're checking to see what kinds of fules MLB teams have. For example, do their require their players to run full speed to first. Even the most obvious things can look different in print."
The hope is to come up with a set of their own rules that will help in the development of their team.
The Eagles announced today that they sold out of tickets for tomorrow's game against the Seibu Lions at Morioka. Yusei Kikuchi is expected to start tomorrow's game for the Lions.
