Chunichi Dragons

Enyelbert Soto's scoreless innings streak against the Hanshin Tigers ended last night at 19 innings.

Hirokazu Ibata became the 32nd player in NPB history to record 200 sac hits last night.  Ibata's first sac hit came on 9/15/1998.

Hanshin Tigers

Akinobu Mayumi told reporters there was nothing wrong with Tomoaki Kanemoto and that he just wanted to give him the entire night off.

Kenjo Jojima began his rehab at Naruohama today.  Jojima had his left knee cleaned out on 8/16 in order to increase his range of movement.  And while Jojima is still holding out on hope that he might be able to return this year, he also realizes the odds are stacked against him.

The Tigers held a team development meeting in Nagoya yesterday.  Team president Nobuo Minami, GM Shoji Numasawa, and Akinobu Mayumi all took part in the meeting.  Amongst issues discussed: going over strategies for the upcoming draft and checking / sorting their current list of players.

Yomiuri Giants

The Giants currently don't expect Michihiro Ogasawara back until mid-October.  Ogasawara suffered an avulsion fracture in his left wrist (hit by pitch) on 8/23 and has been rehabbing since.  But there still isn't a timetable for when he'll be able to start regular practices.

Hiroshima Carp

As of yesterday, Kan Otake was scheduled to throw about 30 pitches during a Ni-gun rehab game against Softbank today.  The club will have a better idea of when Otake will be able to return to the active roster after they see how he's feeling after the outing.
