Yuichi Honda has a shot at becoming the fourth player in PL history to win a batting title and lead the league in stolen bases. The other three players: Yoshinori Hirose in 1964; Makoto Sasaki in 1992; and Ichiro Suzuki in 1995.
Hideaki Wakui's next start will likely come on the 7th (5 days of rest). That will push Yusei Kikuchi's next start back at least one day.
Pitching coach Kazuyoshi Ono told reporters that some of the starters may need to be prepared to go on 4 days of rest if there are games the team needs to win. He also added that starters could be used in long relief out of the bullpen on 3 days of rest.

Chiba Lotte Marines
The media learned yesterday that that Chiba Lotte Marines probably won't get involved in the FA market during the upcoming off-season and will instead continue to work on developing young talent. Takashi Toritani could be an interesting option for the Marines, but his price-tag will likely be too high.
At the start of the season, Takahiro Okada decided to donate 50,000 yen to relief efforts in northern Japan for every home run he hit this season. Okada told reporters yesterday that he wanted to include RBIs because he's only managed 12 home runs so far.
Okada was also the only position player that attended practices at Hotto Motto field yesterday (he worked on his hitting).
