Chiba Lotte Marines

Toshiaki Imae was held out of Saturday's game against the Softbank Hawks because of discomfort in his right wrist.  He was back in the line-up on Sunday and went 0-for-3.

Norifumi Nishimura's comment to reporters after Saturday's 18-3 drubbing by the Softbank Hawks:

It's the manager's fault when games turn out like this.  I just want the players to put this game behind them and focus on winning again tomorrow.

Nishimura did not field any questions from the media.

Nippon Ham Fighters

Atsunori Inaba fouled off a ball that bounced off the ground and hit him near the left eye during his at bat in the 7th inning of Saturday's game against the Rakuten Eagles.  He was taken out of the game immediately after that but did not go to the hospital and instead had the area iced.

"I didn't really feel any pain at first; I just had a hard time seeing," said Inaba.  "Everything looked blurry.  It felt like it hit bone.  I'll relax the rest of the day (9/10)."

Inaba was back in the line-up on Sunday and went 1-for-4.

Orix Buffaloes

Kazuki Kondo and Hikaru Ito were informed that they were being demoted after Sunday's game.

Rakuten Eagles

The Eagles beefed up security at Saturday's game -- an additional 60 security guards for a total 300.
