The media learned on Tuesday that former Hanshin Tiger owner Shunjiro Kuma passed away in a Kobe hospital on the 9th (old age). He was 90 years old.
Kuma joined Hanshin Denki Tetsudo in 1946 and became president of the company in 1982. In October 1984, he took on the role of owner of the Hanshin Tigers and kept that role until he took responsibility for the team "bribing" an amateur player for the draft and resigned in 2004. Kuma also made chairman of the company in 1992.
