The media learned on Friday that Yoshio Itoi has a fracture in his right pinky toe after a hospital visit on the 15th. Itoi apparently suffered the fracture when he was hit by a pitch in a game against Lotte at Sapporo Dome on 8/3. He didn't miss any time because he was originally diagnosed with a contusion. But after Itoi start complaining of pain in his right knee, the team decided to have him checked out at the hospital and found that he had been overcompensating due to the fracture in his toe.
The Fighters don't plan on taking Itoi off the active roster for now, but that may change depending on whether or not the condition gets worse. For now, he's more or less considered day-to-day.
