Shuichi Murata took part in the baseball clinic at a middle school in Yokohama on Sunday and told reporters that he would continue to run hard on every play he took part in.
"Fans can get excited [just by watching you] run hard," said Murata. "Pro yakyu is the top of the yakyu world. I want [fans] to see that yakyu is not just about hitting or not hitting. ... There is no reason for me not to run hard. I will do it again next season."
He also told reporters that he was happy to hear that the Yomiuri Giants were interested in him, that he understood how much Yokohama wanted him to stay, that he wanted to get things settled as soon as possible, and that he hoped to meet with Yokohama at least one more time after becoming a free agent.
