Softbank Hawks

The Hawks returned to Japan on Wednesday.

The Hawks announced on Wednesday that Sho Arima (21) and Koji Toyofuku (20) will be returning to the team under Ikusei contracts next season.

Nippon Ham Fighters

The younger players working out at Kamagaya spent about an hour (beginning at 9:30am) cleaning the player dorms before workouts on Wednesday -- Sho Nakata was in charge of separating the garbage while Yuki Saito was in charge of cleaning the bath tubs.

Nakata has apparently taken Yuya Taniguchi under his wing.

Said Nakata, "It would be a waste for me to sit on all the information top players have given me.  He is my teammate and we all need to improve.  If there is something I can teach, then I want to teach it."

While Hirotoshi Masui's primary role next season will be to pitch out of the bullpen, Hideki Kuriyama has also asked him keep starting somewhere in the back of his mind.

Orix Buffaloes

Hikaru Ito will have a new uniform number next season: from 54 to 22.

Rakuten Eagles

Senichi Hoshino is appealing to individual players and staff to go out and help sell more tickets to games next season.

Takeshi Yamasaki told reporters on Tuesday that he would like to see Motohiro Shima and Teppei become his successors (that is, help pull the team together).

Yamasaki will be holding a Thank You event for fans in Sendai on 12/21.
