Chunichi Dragons

Even though there will be only one Kobayashi on the roster next season (at least for the time being), Masato Kobayashi has decided to stick with 小林正 as his registered name.

Hanshin Tigers

Ikusei chief / batting coach Hiroshi Yagi worked with seven Ikusei players for about two and a half hours at Naruohama on Thursday.


The Umeda Hanshin Department Store will be selling one hundred 2011 Fan Appreciation Fun Bags at their Hanshin Tigers on the same day the Tigers host Fan Appreciation (12/3).  The bags will sell for 4,200 yen a piece.


Fujii and Atsushi Nomi appeared at a fan event at Biwako Grand Hotel on Thursday.  58 fans took part in the event.

Yomiuri Giants

The Giants played golf on FridayHirokazu Sawamura was paired up with Tatsunori Hara.

They also held their Nokai (final year of the meeting) on Friday.  Coaches, players, and staff attended the meeting.

Former owner Takuo Takihana was also at the meeting and apologized to everyone for the disturbances caused by "a certain company official."

Yakult Swallows

The Swallows' players' golf competition took place at Hakonekohan Golf Course on Friday. OF / base-running coach Tetsuya Iida finished with the top score (he was actually tied with Ryuji Miyade and won because of seniority).

Hiroshima Carp

The media learned on Thursday that Yuya Fukui will be appearing in a TV commercial.  Hiroki Kuroda and Kenta Maeda never managed to make their way into TV commercials during their first off-season and Yuki Saito (HAM) has not either.

The commercial is for JA Kyosai Hiroshima and deals with traffic safety.  There will be two version, both lasting 15 seconds.  The commercial will be broadcast in Hiroshima beginning in April 2012.

Yokohama Bay Stars

Hichori Morimoto appeared at a press conference on Friday for a new DeNA Kinniku-man game.  Morimoto was dressed up as Ramen-man.
