Kazuyuki Hoashi told reporters on Friday that he had to call the Softbank Hawks back because he noticed they tried to call him on his mobile phone earlier in the day. Hoashi also said that he was happy the Hawks reached out to him and that he would also speak to any teams that contacted him.
Regarding the call, team official Itaru Kobayashi told reporters that he spoke to Hoashi and asked him to join the Hawks. Kobayashi then added Hoashi was "the perfect pitcher for our team."
UPDATE @ 1:23pm - Nikkan Sports is reporting that the Hawks might be preparing a four-year deal worth up to about 1B yen (could be based on incentives, which means the low may be near 300M yen).
