The Yokohama Bay Stars officially announced on their website that they hired Shigeru Takada as the general manager. They also held a press conference at the team offices to formally introduce Takada.
A the press conference, Takada also announced that the team broke off talks with Kimiyasu Kudo because he did not feel the right vibe with him.
"The GM and manager simply could not build up enough trust/confidence in each other," said Takada. "[Building a team] can be difficult even if the GM and manager are on the same page. I did not think it made sense to begin things when we were not on the same page."
It is possible the Kudo's list of suggestions/conditions did not sit well with Takada.
UPDATE 10:23pm - Kudo held a press conference in Yokohama and did not get into specifics and simply said, "There was not enough time. It really is too bad." He then added, "If possible, I would like to continue with my plans to keep my career going."
