To my fans: an update
On this day, Yu Darvish has decided to make use of the posting system.
I wanted to inform you, the fans, first and foremost so I decided to announce my decision [at my blog].
I am extremely grateful to the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters.
I can not provide any other details at this time because I just recently filled out the paperwork for the posting process.
I would like to hold a press conference once everything is finalized.

UPDATE @ 4:45pm - Early reactions -
Hideki Kuriyama, Nippon Ham Fighters, manager (via Daily Sports): "The [Fighters] told me that there were two possibilities so it is not like I was not prepared for this. Even though it may be true that there is no other pitcher like him anywhere else in Japan, I do not plan on letting this turn out team into one that can not compete. But in terms of the process, it is still early so I will continue to consider all possibilities as I prepare for next year."
Masahiro Tanaka, Rakuten Eagles, pitcher (via Daily Sports): "I read about it on Twitter. I am not really in any position to say anything, but it does make me sad that I will not be able to face him anymore once he goes over there."
UPDATE @ 9:56pm - More reactions -
Toshimasa Shimada, Nippon Ham Fighters, team rep (via Sanspo): "He is Japan's number one pitcher right now. I would like to see him to go and aim to become the world's ace. ... I hope we can be put into a situation where we can help him realize his dreams."
Yuki Saito, Nippon Ham Fighters, pitcher (via Nikkan Sports): "I hope things go well and according to plan."
UPDATE 12/9 @ 12:32am - More reactions -
Sho Nakata, Nippon Ham Fighters, INF/OF (via Sanspo): "He taught me a lot of things, like life off the field and training. You can say that I will be sad."
Yuki Saito, Nippon Ham Fighters, INF/OF (via Sanspo): "I was surprised. A part of me would still like to learn more from him, but I am also excited about watching him pitch in the Majors."
Takahiro Arai, Hanshin Tigers, INF (via Sanspo): "For all kinds of reasons, including the fact that he is Japan's Ace, I hope he does well."
Takahiro Okada, Orix Buffaloes OF (via Sanspo): "The Majors are at the top of the baseball world. When I managed to a home run off Darvish, Japan's great pitcher, it gave me confidence. I am excited to see how well he does in the Majors."
