Chunichi Dragons

Morimichi Takagi was police chief for the day at the Meito Police Station in Nagoya on Thursday.


Eiji Bando is planning to escort 250 fans on a tour of spring camp next season -- he worked out the details with the team on Thursday and the tour will be accredited by the team.


Kazuki Yoshimi started a blog.

Hanshin Tigers

Daiki Enokida was presented with Daily Sports' 2011 Fierce Tiger Excitement Award on Friday.


Kyuji Fujikawa and Takashi Shimizu visited Horie Elementary School on Friday and spent about an hour hanging out with students from the school (played catch, answered questions).


Yutaka Wada has asked their advance scouts to create DVDs for individual position players (like a collection of all their hits or defensive plays from the past season).  Pitchers can also ask for DVDs after they get permission.

Wada also said he plans to schedule regular meetings, beginning in spring camp, with his position player captain (Takashi Toritani) and pitcher captain (Fujikawa).


GM Shoji Numasawa told reporters on Thursday that they were thinking about shuffling uniform numbers for a handful of players.

Yomiuri Giants

Tetsuya Utsumi was presented with the 2011 Yanase Giants MVP award on Friday.  He was also given a Mecedez Benz A180.

Yakult Swallows

The Swallows held their team Nokai (final meeting of the year) on FridayNorichika Aoki was in attendance.


The Swallows have four trainers at the Ichi-gun level, one of which is also a conditioning coach.  Shinya Miyamoto would like to see the team increase that to 5-6 trainers.

Yokohama Bay Stars

The Bay Stars announced that Yoshitomo Tsutsugo will be getting a new number next year: from 8 to 25 (Shuichi Murata's old number).


Shuichi Murata is scheduled to hold a baseball clinic with Daisuke Matsuzaka in Iwate on 12/17.
