Chunichi Dragons

Kazuki Yoshimi is scheduled to meet with the Dragons on 12/12.  He told reporters on Friday that he is not in any rush to get through salary negotiations this year and that he expects Chunichi to make him a very good offer.

The Dragons are also scheduled to head out to Hawaii for the championship victory (12/14 - 12/20).

Hanshin Tigers

About 150 fans attended Akihito Fujii's talk and autograph session at The Museum of Hanshin Koshien Stadium on Saturday.

Kyuji Fujikawa said he was thinking about throwing his slider more next season.

"If I throw the slider more, I can probably get batters out a lot more easily since the ball does not carry much.  If you hit a 150km/h fastball square, the ball will carry, but the distance the ball carries when they swing on a 130km/h pitch is completely different," said Fujikawa.

Takahiro Arai ordered a new practice bat with a center of gravity that is located closer to the bat head.

Yasutomo Kubo told reporters he was planning to order a Randy Bass model type bat to use next year.  The bat is about 1kg.

Said Kubo, "A heavy bat is hard to swing and is more solid on contact.  Heavier and thicker bats are easier to use when bunting too.  And if you swing the bat a lot of practice, it can help make your body stronger."

Yomiuri Giants

Tatsunori Hara participated in FANCL Kids Baseball Challenge 2011 in Naha (baseball clinic) on Saturday.  Around 400 youth baseball players attended.

Tetsuya Utsumi, Hisayoshi Chono, Tetsuya Matsumoto, Daisuke Fujimura, Daisuke Nakai, Itaru Hashimoto, and Taishi Ota hosted a Christmas Party at a hotel in Morioka, Iwate on Saturday for 164 elementary school kids from Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima

The media learned on Friday that Shun Tono is currently working out by himself in Ishigakishima.  His practices begin at 7am with a walk, following by lots of short to medium distance dashes that total about 5km, then about two hours of weight training.

On Saturday, Tono held a baseball clinic for about 80 youth baseball players (five teams), but not before about four hours worth of training that began at 8:30 in the morning.

Michihiro Ogasawara told reporters on Friday that he wanted to provide Shuichi Murata with whatever help he might need.

Yakult Swallows

Yoshinori Sato will be changing his glove color from black to a light brown next year.

Hiroshima Carp

Yoshiyuki Ishihara, Soichiro Amaya, and Yuya Fukui were in Kurashiki, Okayama on Saturday in order to participate in a symposium for youth baseball players.

Kenta Maeda will be switching over to a Michihiro Ogasawara model bat next year.
