Former Lotte Satoru Komiyama was a panelist at the youth baseball player's symposium in Kurashiki, Okayama on Friday.  Komiyama suggested that players split the strike zone into two parts instead of the nine parts.

"It is practically impossible to throw a baseball to nine different sections," said Komiyama.  "When I was pitching well, I split the zone into four sections.  When things were not going well, two sections (inside, outside).  And that is usually enough to get you by.  But I also never made any mistakes, I was 100% spot on."
