Toshiya Sugiuchi's agent/lawyer, Tatsuma Sakai, said to reporters on Thursday, "I am supposed to talk to [Sugiuchi] sometime tonight. It is possible I might meet [with the Yomiuri Giants] tomorrow."
When asked if Sugiuchi was going to attend the next round of negotiations, Sakai said it was possible, but for that to happen, the meeting would most likely have to be pushed off until 19th because Sugiuchi has plans to practice through to the 18th.
Sugiuchi's lawyer is scheduled to meet with the Giants today at a hotel in Tokyo. Sugiuchi will not be present but did say that he wanted to make a decision before the end of the year.
Sugiuchi is planning to hold a family meeting over the weekend and will try to narrow things down.
"I will speak to my family, which is the important part of this. I will make my decision based on that," said Sugiuchi.
He also said that he will leave negotiations up to his agent because his schedule was already full.
The Hawks will not put a deadline on their offer to Sugiuchi -- they will wait however long it takes for him to decide.
