Softbank Hawks

Sadaharu Oh told reporters on Friday that the team will probably select a player from the Yomiuri Giants as compensation for losing Toshiya Sugiuchi because the team was not really in need of any money and because they probably will not be able to protect all their good players.

Hiroki Kokubo figures he will be able to get his 2,000th career hit by May (he needs 38 hits).

Seibu Lions

According to Sanspo, of the 22 strikeouts Yusei Kikuchi recorded while playing winter ball in Australia, 17 came when he used his new curve.

Chiba Lotte Marines

Saburo told reporters while he sees his main position as outfielder, he is also open to trying other positions in order to make things easier for Norifumi Nishimura.  First base could be an option (the Yomiuri Giants had him working out at first).

Tomoya Satozaki will be in the final year of a two-year deal next season.

Orix Buffaloes

Sponichi reports that about 40% of the 30M yen in incentives on Dae-Ho Lee's contract is tied into his OBP and RBI.  The team placed little emphasis on homers.

Nikkan Sports mentions 30-40% on OBP and about 30% on RBI.

Hikaru Ito will be taking over Takahiro Okada's old room in the player dorms.

Rakuten Eagles

Akinori Iwamura held a baseball clinic in Matsuyama, Ehime (part of AKI PROJECT) on Friday for about 125 elementary school kids.
