12/24/2011: Norichika Aoki, Hisashi Iwakuma, Hiroki Kuroda

Sponichi and Nikkan Sports figure the Minnesota Twins are no long interested in Hisasahi Iwakuma because they signed Jason Marquis.

Iwakuma also told reporters on Friday that he feels no ill-will towards the Oakland A's for how things worked out last winter.


Via Nikkan Sports: ESPN's Andrew Marchand reports that while the New Yokrk Yankees like Hiroki Kuroda,they do not have the funds to pay him.  A snip:

The Yankees are still unlikely to do anything major this offseason unless they can unload some money, a baseball official with knowledge of their plans. So even though they like Hiroki Kuroda a lot, Yankees GM Brian Cashman does not have the cash to spend on the righty starter. Kuroda figures to receive at least $12 million on a one-year deal.


Ichiro Suzuki made an appearance at the awards ceremony for the 16th Annual Ichiro Cup Youth Rubber Baseball Tournament that took place in Toyama, Aichi on Friday.


Ichiro, Norichika Aoki, and Yuki Saito worked out together again on Saturday in Tokyo.

Aoki also told reporters that he currently plans to fly to the US some time in early January.
