Wednesday (12/28) was the last official work day for the NPB in 2011. Commissioner Ryozo Kato met with reporters and told reporters that he was moved with how the teams came together to play out a full season, despite an 18-day delay and struggles with energy conservation issues. He also said he was looking forward to DeNA joining the league and expected them to socially responsible.
The NPB announced on Wednesday that Shoji Numasawa will be joining the staff as a vice secretary general, effective 1/1/2012. Numasawa apparently signed a multi-year deal.
The NPB is planning to re-organize the subcommittee in charge putting together the league's new data system. Specifics will be worked out during a special executive committee scheduled to take place on 1/10/2012.
