Softbank Hawks

Kenji Otonari did some running at Yahoo Dome on Wednesday and told reporters his goal for the 2012 season was to pitch well enough to stay in the starting rotation the entire year.

Otonari also apparently lost some weight while playing winter ball in the Dominican Republic because the food there did not suit him -- he currently weighs around 83kg, which is 2-3kg lighter than his ideal weight.


The city of Miyazaki announced on Wednesday that they will have a parade celebrating the Hawks' championship on 1/31/2012, the day before spring camp begins.  Opening ceremonies will begin at 6:00pm and the parade itself will start at 6:20pm and run along a 1.7km route.

Chiba Lotte Marines

Tomoya Satozaki will try to cut back on his carb intake during the winter.  He also hopes to drop about 5kg before the start of spring camp.

Nippon Ham Fighters

Hideki Kuriyama is thinking about giving Yuki Saito the exhibition game start on 3/11/2012.  The Fighters will be playing that Rakuten Eagles and there's a good chance Masahiro Tanaka could be getting the start.


Team rep Toshimasa Shimada told reporters on Tuesday that he has still not given up on 1st round draft pick Tomoyuki Sugano.


2nd round draft pick Go Matsumoto closed out his training for the year at Teikyo High School on Wednesday.  Matsumoto is scheduled to move into the player dorms on 1/8 and will attend the mini camp for the 2011 draft class that begins on 1/12.

Orix Buffaloes

The Buffaloes announced on Wednesday that their 2011 draft class will be required to move into the player dorms by 1/9 with training sessions for the 2011 draft class taking place between 1/10 and 1/25 at Hotto Motto Kobe.
