Sports Hochi is reporting that Yu Darvish reportedly left for the United States with his father on January 1.  While it is not certain why he is visiting the US, Sports Hochi is guessing that Darvish wanted to visit Arlington, TX to get a feel for the place.  He will also probably checking out the Texas Rangers' facilities.

Darvish is not expected to meet with the team during his visit or to undergo any medical examinations.
