Kazuyuki Hoashi told reporters on Monday that he look forward to facing his former team, the Seibu Lions (particularly Takumi Kuriyama), this year.

He also told reporters that he would like to pitch well enough to earn the right to wear the number 47 (although it was a number he wanted to avoid this year because he did not want people expecting him to replace Toshiya Sugiuchi).

Nippon Ham Fighters

Eiichi Koyano worked out at his alma mater Soka University on Tuesday.  Tomoya Yagi and Yutaka Otsuka were also part of the group.  Koyano also managed to shed some weight: from around 92kg down to about 85kg.

When asked where he wanted to bat in the line-up, he told reporters that it would be best if Sho Nakata batted clean-up since it would take the pressure off of him.

For those interested in the batting center both Atsunori Inaba and Ichiro Suzuki frequented when they were younger: Kuko Batting in Aichi.

Seibu Lions

Hisanobu Watanabe would like Kazuhisa Makita to win at least ten games this year.  He would also like to see Takumi Kuriyama bat third.

Senichi Hoshino plans to have all his pitchers to prepare for the season as starters (outside of Shinichiro Koyama and Hiroshi Katayama).  As of now, only Masahiro Tanaka and Takahiro Shiomi have guaranteed spots in the rotation.

Chiba Lotte Marines

Ikuhiro Kiyota appeared at a talk session at Kashiwa Takashimaya on Tuesday.  About 300 fans attended the event.
