Takashi Toritani worked out with Chiba Lotte Marine Tadahito Iguchi at the Okinawa National College of Technology baseball field today.  Workouts included playing catch, fielding practice, BP, and running.  The two have been working out together since 1/6.

Shinjiro Hiyama is unofficially scheduled to attend Ichi-gun spring camp in Okinawa -- the warmer weather will be better for him as he works his way back from a fractured collarbone.

===

Yutaka Wada gave the 2011 draft class the following advice on Sunday: set goals, do not let the pressure get to you and force you to work too hard (do not get hurt), mind you manners, be vocal, and let your personalities show.

===

Wada told 1st round draft pick Hayata Ito that he might want to get used to taking notes, similar to the way Matt Murton does.  That should not be a problem for Ito, since he did that while playing college ball.

===

2nd round draft pick Hiroaki Saiuchi sprained his right ankle while playing long toss in December.  While Saiuchi can now walk around without any problems and play catch (he has some trouble running dashes), the team is taking precautions and having him start things slow.  He will join the other members of the 2011 draft class as soon as the pain subsides.

Wada, pitching coach Keiichi Yabu, Atsushi Nomi, Shinobu FukuharaRyo Watanabe, and Ryota Arai took part in the charity auction / autograph session at Asahi Auto Center in Amagasaki, Hyogo on Sunday.  About 1,500 fans attended the event.

Amongst the other items that were auctioned off: a Murton helmet went for 90,000 yen and a Matt Murton autographed spring camp uniform went for 150,000 yen.  A total 1,817,000 yen was raised, all of which will be donated to a foundation that help Amagasaki children that lost parents in traffic accidents.
