Team owner Hajime Matsuda told reporters on Tuesday that they will continue to wait for Hiroki Kuroda with open arms. A team official also hinted that the team was more or less done with making moves this winter.
In addition to the eight players they drafted last year (four of which are Ikusei players), the Carp added two foreign players (Nick Stavinoha and Kam Mickolio) and currently have 64 players on the 70-man roster.
Kan Otake worked out at Mazda Stadium on Tuesday. Workouts included running, trunk strengthening exercises, and playing catch. Otake is coming back from right shoulder pains and visited four hospitals this winter, in various locations like Tokyo and Fukushima, for additional examinations and rehab instructions.
