by on Jan.12, 2012 @ 5:14 pm, under NPB

Morimichi Takagi told reporters on Wednesday that Tatsuro Hirooka (79) will be holding a seminar on coaching methods for the coaching staff on 1/15.  Nine new coaches, in addition to Takagi, were hired by the Dragons during the winter.  Three of them, Ni-gun batting coach Toshikatsu Hikono, Ni-gun pitching coach Shinji Imanaka, and Ni-gun Hiroyuki Maehara, will be making their first attempts at being coaches for an NPB team.

The Dragons are also hoping to have Hirooka attend spring camp in Okinawa as a special instructor.

If 1st round draft pick Shuhei Takahashi makes it into the practice game on 2/11 against the LG Twins, he will become the first player in franchise history to play in practice game against another team in his first year out of high school.

5th round draft pick Takahiro Kawasaki strained his left hamstring earlier this month and will require about four weeks for a full recovery.
