Chunichi Dragons

2nd round draft pick Kentaro Nishikawa was warned that he was throwing too hard while playing catch during practices on Thursday.  After practices he told reporters that he was getting ahead of himself a little.

Nishikawa is apparently a little lonely now that he is living on his own (technically not really on his own since he is living in the player dorm) and is spending time playing Winning Eleven with 1st round draft pick Shuhei Takahashi after dinner.

Yomiuri Giants

The Giants announced on Thursday that Jin Nakatani's uniform number will be changing from 58 to 44.

Hanshin Tigers

2nd round draft pick Hiroaki Saiuchi ran outdoors and played catch (distance of around 40 meters) at Naruohama on Thursday for the first time since the start of training camp for the 2011 draft class.

Shinta Hifumi began his new life as a position player on Thursday.  His workouts included fielding practice, running, and about 25 minutes in the indoor batting cages.

Takahiro Arai performed Goma mediations at Saifukuji in Kagoshima on Thursday the ninth straight year.  The entire session lasted about 90 minutes.
