Chunichi Dragons

Training camp for the 2011 draft class lasted about five hours today and included running, fielding practices, and BP.


Comedian and Chunichi fan Boo Takagi may make a surprise visit to Dragons' spring camp this year.

Hanshin Tigers

The Tigers held a staff meeting on Friday to discuss plans for spring camp.

While the will not be deciding on player assignments until 1/22, it seems they are leaning towards having Kenji Jojima and Shinjiro Hiyama start at Ichi-gun camp.  The team is also currently scheduled to play five practice games, beginning with the Nippon Ham Fighters on 2/12.


Sports Hochi is reporting (Sanspo and Sponichi are carrying the exact same Kyodo story) that Yuya Ando threw about 70 pitches in the bullpen on Friday (squatting catcher).  Nikkan Sports is putting the total at 96 and mentions that they were all fastballs.

Ando also spent some time running dashes in the outfield after the session.


Yamato's workouts on Friday lasted about five hours and included running, fielding practice, and BP.


1st round draft pick Hayato Ito made an appearance on Sun TV's Nekketsu! Tigers-to on Friday.  It was his first official live TV appearance.

Yokohama Bay Stars

The Bay Stars are looking for a foreign player that can hit for average.


Kiyoshi Nakahata sees Shugo Fujii as a member of the starting rotation.


Kimiyasu Kudo was presented with the Super Baseball Award at the TV Asahi Big Sports Award Ceremony on Friday.

Kudo is scheduled to join TV Asahi's Hodo Station as a "replacement" for Hideki Kuriyama.
