Masaru Takeda's worked out in Izu, Shizuoka on Sunday. Takeda's workouts began at 8:30am and focused on running and trunk strengthening exercises. Practices closed with a 30-minute game of catch.
FYI: Izu is the same place his former team Shidax (Industrial League) used during their spring camps.
7th round draft pick Takumi Oshima let his bat slip out of his hand again on Monday, this time grazing Yusuke Uemura. Nikkan Sports makes no mention of the previous incident though (reported by Sanspo).
Nago City Mayor Susumu Inamine told reporters during a regularly scheduled press conference on Monday that Nippon Ham donated 100M yen to the city. The formal ceremony will be held on 2/1.
3rd round draft pick Tatsuya Sato is the youngest of 7 siblings. He told reporters on Sunday that he wanted to make it in the pros so that he can help his parents rebuild their house.
4th round draft pick Tomoyuki Kaida tossed a bullpen session on Monday -- 28 pitches (fastballs and curves) to a standing catch (5th round draft pick Shoji Ryuji). He told reporters he threw the ball at about 50% and that he planned to toss two bullpen session during the next block of training camp (which begins on 1/18).
Yoshihisa Hirano and his wife threw a wedding ceremony at a hotel in Osaka on Sunday. About 150 people, including teammates Fumihiro Suzuki, Mamoru Kishida, Chihiro Kaneko, and Tomotaka Sakaguchi, attended.
Motohiro Shima worked out with a group of player in Uruma, Okinawa on Monday. Workouts lasted about five hours and included weight training, running, playing catch, and BP.
The group includes players like Shinichiro Koyama and Tomohiro Tsuchiya.
Yusuke Kosai worked out with a group of players, including Akinori Iwamura, at Ginowan Stadium in Okinawa on Sunday. Kosai started taking BP on 1/11, about two to three weeks earlier than usual.
The group also held a baseball clinic for about 150 kids after practices.
Ginji is working out in the infield and outfield because he wants more playing time (he goal is to appear in at least half of the team's games this season).

Monday was the last day of the second block of training camp for the 2011 draft class. 3rd round draft pick Daichi Suzuki's workouts lasted about five hours and included running, strength training, and BP.
Tadahito Iguchi worked out in Nago, Okinawa today. He is currently working out with eight players from five different teams.
2nd round draft pick Yuhei Nakaushiro tossed his bullpen session on Sunday at about 60-70%. ... The "Nakaushiro" reading of '中後' is apparently very rare, so much so that his family is the only one listed in the Osaka phone book. The same kanji, read "Chugo" is actually fairly popular.
