Hideki Matsui met with Mizuno on Tuesday to talk about the equipment he will be using in 2012. One of the changes Matsui is said to have requested: shaving down an area three centimeters away from the bat handle about one millimeter to make it 37.5 millimeters.

The Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant notes that Yu Darvish's desire for a five-year deal will not keep the Texas Rangers from signing him. Grant also mentions that Darvish could sign a deal worth between $10-$11M a year.
