KANDOK: Eri Yoshida to join Hyogo Blue Sandars

According to Nikkan Sports, Eri Yoshida (20) will be playing for the Hyogo Blue Sandars this year. A press conference is scheduled on February 3 at Sanda Sports Park Baseball Stadium in Hyogo.
Even though her contract will run through to the end of November, Hyogo plans to allow Yoshida to pursue playing opportunities in the US.
Absolutely not criticizing your content, Gen, but I sincerely wonder what this person’s appeal. Does anyone on here give her even a one in a million chance of making it anywhere? Have I missed something?
My fascination in her isn’t so much about whether or not she makes it, but more as an individual pursuing her dream. I suppose there is also an underdog element involved: she is not expected to make it, but just maybe…
The story obviously won’t appeal to everyone. And I suppose you could read into it negatively as just a publicity stunt. But I’d like to think that she’s doing this for the love of the game. It’s something I wish I could be doing.
