Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi passes tryout with Rakuten Eagles

The Rakuten Eagles held a press conference today to announce their newest addition: forty-three year old Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi.
No word on what kind of contract he signed, but he was assigned the number 91.
UPDATE @ 8:8pm - Shimoyanagi got what appears to be a one-year deal worth an estimated 15M yen plus incentives.
I actually like this for the tiny price. Good veteran to possibly transition into a coaching role later on as well.
