1st round draft pick Yusuke Nomura, 2nd round draft pick Ryosuke Kikuchi, and 4th round draft pick Shohei Habu visited Murasakimura on their day off on Monday and took a thirty minute trial karate course.

There is a good chance 1st round draft pick Yusuke Nomura will toss his first bullpen session during spring camp on Tuesday.

Don Wakamatsu's visit with the Carp ended on Sunday (he started observing spring camp on February 3).

Yuki Saito was originally slated to pitch in a practice game against Nippon Ham on February 11, but may now pitch in a game against Hanshin on February 14.

Saito faced Eishin Soyogi and Masato Akamatsu during batting practice on Sunday and allowed just two could-be hits on fifty pitches.

Nick Stavinoha is scheduled to travel with the team when they play Nippon Ham on February 11, even though he is not expected to play in the game.

Fielding/base-running coach Shinji Ko returned to practices on Sunday after missing a few days because of acute enterocolitis.
