7th round draft pick Takumi Oshima was hit by a pitch in today's practice game against the Hanshin Tigers and later told reporters that getting hit by a softball was more painful.

Yuki Saito's next start will likely be against Yokohama on February 16.

And comments from Hideki Kuriyama and pitching coach Masato Yoshii on Saito's outing, via Sports Hochi:

Kuriyama: "[That home run he gave up] is just bad and I want him to think about that. ... I am not looking for him to become the ace of the staff.  I am looking for more than that from him. ... But, despite all that.  Honestly, he is making progress."

Yoshii: "Yu-chan did well. ... I want him to get batters that are waiting for fastballs out with the fastballs.  He is more of a power pitcher than anyone else thinks.  Offspeed pitches are no good."

The Fighters drew about 2,500 fans on Saturday.

====== UPDATE 2/13 @ 1:36am

Takahiro Imanami worked out at Ni-gun camp today because of pain in his right flank.  Imanami suffered the injury on Saturday.  The team feels it could be a muscle strain and has scheduled an examination at a hospital in Nago on Monday.
