Bullpen Sessions / Batting Practice


  • Kan Otake allowed ten could be hits on fifty-two pitches during batting practice.  This was his first batting practice outing during spring camp this year. (Nikkan Sports)
  • Kam Mickolio faced Tsubasa Aizawa and Ryuhei Matsuyama during batting practice and struggled with his control, throwing twenty-one of thirty-six pitches for balls.  He also allowed one could-be hit. (Daily Sports, Sanspo)
  • 1st round draft pick Yusuke Nomura threw seventy pitches in the bullpen.  It was his fourth session since the start of spring camp. (Daily Sports)  Or seventy-eight pitches. (Nikkan Sports)


Baseball analyst Mitsuo Tatsukawa caught three of 1st round draft pick Yusuke Nomura's pitches in the bullpen today.


NPB Commissioner Ryozo Kato, 1st round draft pick Nomura's parents, and Meiji University manager Tatsuya Yoshinami visited Okinawa camp today.


Kenta Maeda told reporters on Sunday that he threw his bullpen at 80-90%.


Team owner Hajime Matsuda gave Tomohiro Abe three kendamas on Sunday to help relax his knees when fielding and hitting.
