1st round draft pick Hayata Ito did not take batting practice today because he felt pain in his right wrist when swinging the bat.  The team is uncertain if it has something to do with the ganglion cyst removal.

Ito also did not play in today's practice game against the Orix Buffaloes, but did take part in pre-game fielding practice.

Daiki Enokida is expected to pitch an inning in Sunday's game against the Yomiuri Giants.

===

Tomoaki Kanemoto's lucky color for 2012 appears to be blue.

===

According to Sanspo, for Sunday's game against the Yomiuri Giants, Kenji Jojima will play at first, Takashi Toritani at short, Kentaro Sekimoto at third, and Kanemoto will be used as a DH.

Katsuya Nomura thinks the Tigers should shoot for either a second or third place finish because the Yomiuri Giants may be too difficult to beat after the upgrades they made during the winter.  Nomura also thinks Shinjiro Hiyama (42) can continue his career as a pinch-hitter until he is fifty.
