Central League: “Starting Pitcher Announcement” decision put off until March 8

The Central League held a board of directors meeting today and decided to hold off on putting "Starting Pitcher Announcements" to a vote until March 8 in order to continue discussions on whether or not the rule should implemented.

And while there were no Central League teams that were strongly against the implementation, one team, the Hanshin Tigers, felt they could agree to the rule at this current time.

FYI: Sponichi posted some attendance figures with "Starting Pitcher Announcements" in the Pacific League.

Before the PL adopted the rule, attendance in 1993: 9,291,000
After the PL adopted the rule, attendance in 1994: 9,560,000
