Fumiya Nishiguchi started practicing again today after missing a few days to the flu. His workouts included throwing off the bullpen mound (standing catcher), long distance throwing, and running.
Nishiguchi will be sent down to Ni-gun temporarily until he is fully ready to rejoin the Ichi-gun players.
Hideto Asamura did not play in today's practice game against the LG Twins because he twisted his left ankle during practice. The sprain does not appear to be serious and he is expected to play on Saturday (exhibition game against the Yomiuri Giants).
According to Nikkan Sports, Hideaki Wakui, Takayuki Kishi, Kazuhisa Makita, and Fumiya Nishiguchi are all strong candidates to make the starting rotation. Other possible starting candidates include: Kazuhisa Ishii, Yusei Kikichi, Tatsuya Oishi, Enrique Gonzalez, and 1st round draft pick Ken Togame.
