Yokohama Bay Stars: March 2, 2012

by on Mar.02, 2012 @ 11:55 pm, under NPB

Yuki Kuniyoshi is slated to start Saturday's exhibition game against the Rakuten Eagles.

The Bay Stars worked out at Nagasaki Big N Stadium for about two and a half hours today.

Yoshitomo Tsutsugo may not be ready to return to the active roster until Inter-league play begins.

Tsutsugo was able to swing at thirty baseballs during soft-toss batting practice today while placing his weight on a balance ball.

Shun Yamaguchi recently got a buzz cut.

The Bay Stars received approval from the league during an executive committee meeting on Thursday for their plans to add an LED board across the top of the outfield fence at Yokohama Stadium.  The board will not display moving images when batters are hitting since it will be viewable from the batter's box.  Construction is set to begin within the next few days.

Via Sanspo: The Bay Stars will be giving 2,000 yen discounts (INF reserved) based on the day of the week:

  • Tuesday - Uniform Discounts - given to fans wearing baseball uniforms
  • Wednesday - Silver Discounts - given to fans 60 years and older
  • Thursday - Ladies' Discounts - given to women or men dressed as women
  • Friday - Men's Discounts - given to men
  • Saturday - Kids' Discounts - given to fans 18 and younger

I’m amazed at the outreach to the cross dressing community but wondering why they won’t give the discount on Friday to women dressed as men. :-)
