The NPB owners held a meeting in Tokoy today and approved of the league's plan to become a General Incorporated Association (一般社団法人). The league will file all the necessary paperwork this month.
Under the new setup, NPB Commissioner Ryozo Kato will act as Chairman and the Owner Meetings will become General Meetings. Kato has also requested that the company statute include a line recognizing pro yakyu as a cultural public entity.
If the paperwork goes through without any difficulties, the NPB could begin operating as a General Incorporated Association as early as October.
