And comments take from his press conference after the game (Nikkan Sports):
What are your thoughts on facing MLB batters? How are they different than the NPB?
It is still early during Spring Training, for both me and the opponents. MLB hitters have power while Japanese hitters are better at making contact. Both are equal annoying.
You gave up a big hit in the 2nd inning.
It is dry and there is the wind. It seems they are getting more distance than usual, but I did not feel as though they were hitting me hard.
Was it power vs power?
We are all still practicing. This is not about challenging each other yet. That is for when the regular season begins.
Which batter do you want to face during the regular season?
I have not really thought about it. I want to face good batters and I want to pitch.
What parts of your outing were you satisfied with? Unsatisfied with?
I am happy that I was able to pitch well against the opposition and that I was able to throw the fastball and slider a lot better than I thought I would. Nothing really unsatisfactory at this point in the season.
Were you able to throw the off-speed pitches as you intended?
The ball is different so I really did not have any kind of image for how I would throw them, but my control over the slider was good.
