Yomiuri Giants: Shigeyuki Furuki has a fracture in his left shoulder blade; Hideki Sunaga has left elbow surgery
The media learned today that Shigeyuki Furuki has a fracture in his left shoulder blade. A timetable for his recovery is unknown and it seems likely he will miss the start of the regular season.
Furuki likely suffered the fracture when he his left shoulder hit the ground while playing defense in the 8th inning against the Softbank Hawks on March 10. He was originally diagnosed with a contusion.
The Yomiuri Giants also announced today that Hideki Sunaga had surgery on his left elbow (UCL - 左肘内側側副靱帯再建手) on Monday.
