Kenta Kurihara did not play in today's exhibition game against the Chunichi Dragons because of a neck ache.  He did, however, take part in pre-game practices.

Nick Stavinoha started in left today for the first time since he was diagnosed with an inguinal hernia.  He also knocked out a solo homer into the second floor balcony out in left in the 4th inning off Kenshin Kawakami.

Kenta Maeda told reporters on Friday that if it were up to him, he would not start another exhibition game against the Chunichi Dragons.

"I would rather not pitch if I did not have to, but preparing is also important," said Maeda.  "But I can always purposely shake off signs and throw pitches I have trouble with or purposely throw pitches I know they can hit."

Hirotaka Egusa is scheduled to make his Hirohima debut during a Kyoiku League game against Orix on Sunday.  If he pitches well, his next outing could be with the Ichi-gun team on either March 20 or 21 against Hanshin.
