Starting line-up exchanges to take place five minutes before the start of the game

by on Mar.27, 2012 @ 10:06 pm, under NPB

The Central and Pacific League announced today that they will follow the baseball rules closely this season and hold starting line-up exchanges five minutes before the start of games.  Up until this year, the exchanges were usually made after the visiting team took batting practice.

Starting players announced over the PA system before the start of games will be based on information provided before the line-up exchanges.  In addition, if an announced starting pitcher cannot make his start, for whatever reason, the opposition will have an opportunity to make changes to their line-up.
