Hideki Matsui (FA) recently spoke to reporters and said, "The season will soon start.  I wonder how long this will last. ... I have not spent some much time taking batting practice before.  I have been able to thoroughly work on things I need to."

Matsui started his workouts in New York on February 23 and was swinging the bat more than 300 times a day by February 28.  He switched workout locations on March 19 and added fiedling practice and running into the mix.

Daisuke Matsuzaka (BOS) faced eight minor league batters during live batting practice and allowed three hits and struck out one.

Ryota Igarashi (PIT) spent time checking on his pitching mechanics after playing catch on Wednesday -- he refrained from throwing in the bullpen and instead slowly went through his motion on flat ground.

Tsuyoshi Wada's (BAL) did some running and played some catch before general team workouts on Wednesday.  No word yet on when he will pitch next.

Via Nikkan Sports, MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan notes that Yu Darvish will likely be the fourth starter in the Texas rotation, behind Colby Lewis, Derek Holland, and Matt Harrison.

On Wednesday, Darvish threw forty-seven pitches in the bullpen.

Via Sanspo, the Associated Press is reporting that the MLB is considering playing locations in London and the Netherlands.
